Nassau CC Wins Mid Atlantic II Championship
Nine Nassau Wrestlers Heading to the NJCAA Championships

This past weekend the Nassau Community College wrestling team won the Mid Atlantic Championship at the Rowan College Gloucester County Campus. The tournament team championship went down to the last match at 285lbs. Jenard Rosemond overcame a 6-0 deficit before winning his match 10-6 in overtime which crowned the Nassau CC wrestling team the Mid Atlantic II Championship. The Lions had five Mid Atlantic Champions, Josh Antione 125lbs, Joe Russ 133lbs, 141lbs Mark West, 184lbs Giovanni Santiago and 285lbs Jenard Rosemond. Nassau also had two other finalist Sam Schwartzafel 157lbs, Zakaria Small 174lbs both finished second. Two other wrestlers qualified for the National Tournament by finishing third Thomas Mcloughlin 149lbs and Deuly Espinal 165lbs.

The Lions will be heading to Des Moines, Iowa for the NJCAA National Championships (Feb 27 & 28).
