Bay Shore High School History

On Thursday, January 7, 1932 Bay Shore High School competed in its first ever interscholastic wrestling match. The meet was held at Great Neck High School. Great Neck won, 25-15. Bay Shore was coached by Cliff LaPlatney who also started varsity football at Bay Shore in 1927. In the teams' second match of the season on Thursday, January 18th, at the old high school on Fourth Avenue, Bay Shore hosted its first-ever home meet and recorded its first victory, a 25-8 win over Stony Brook. Since then, Bay Shore has a dual meet record of 733-436-14 through 2020. The Marauders have had 200 individual 139 league or conference, 82 Suffolk county, 23 Long Island and 4 New York State tournament champions.
