NOTES:

  • This is the initial pre-season ranking. We have tried our best to verify returners, but if there are any errors please send input to s8rankings@yahoogroups.com. An updated pre-season ranking will be done prior to the start of the season.

  • 96 and 103 weight classes are combined for now until competition begins and we can separate 96 from 103 wrestlers. For other weights we used trends of the past year to move wrestlers up 1 or two weights. Exceptions would be those who emailed us to let us know what weight they will be going in 2005-2006 as well as some summer weights wrestled.

  • Once competition begins we will classify wrestlers at the weights wrestled.

  • Most importantly please remember these rankings are a guide based upon returning placing points as well as other knowledge the ranking committee has. Any wrestler can beat another on a given day. If you feel you are better than a ranked wrestler you will have your chance to prove it during the season by beating him or common opponents. We wish the best to all Sec 8 wrestlers as the season approaches.

Please note the rankings listed here are for fun. We used returning place winners to start the list.
Other names were based on summer wrestling results and a panel of so called experts. Good luck and have a great season.
